Deficient Plasma, Factor XII – DiagnosticVisuDep-F Frozen Factor XII Deficient Plasma is an immune-depleted plasma which is intended for use as a substrate plasma in the quantitative determination of Factor XII activity in citrated plasmas using a clot-based assay. Principle: Factor XII activity in patient plasma is determined in vitro through the use of a modified activated partial thromboplastin time test (APTT). Patient plasma is diluted, mixed with plasma deficient in Factor XII and an APTT test performed. The result is interpolated using a reference curve generated with dilutions of calibrator plasma mixed with the Factor XII deficient plasma. Correction of the clotting time of the deficient plasma is proportional to the activity level of Factor XII in the patient plasma. Features:
- Once thawed, VisuDep-F Frozen Factor XII Deficient Plasma is stable for 4 hours on-board (15-19°C) or 8 hours at 2-8°C in original vial.
- Factor XII activity level of <1% , remaining coagulation factors have activities of 50% and fibrinogen level of 1.5 g/L.
- Approved for in vitro diagnostic use in Canada and select European countries. Not available in the United States.
- Available in two package sizes: 25 x 1ml or 5 x 1ml
