Deficient Plasma, Factor II – DiagnosticVisuDep-F Frozen Factor II Deficient Plasma is an immune-depleted plasma which is intended for use as a substrate plasma in the quantitative determination of Factor II activity in citrated plasmas using a clot-based assay. Principle: Factor II (prothrombin) activity levels in patient plasma is determined in vitro through the use of a modified prothrombin time test (PT). Patient plasma is diluted, mixed with plasma deficient in Factor II and a PT test performed. The result is interpolated using a reference curve generated with dilutions of calibrator plasma mixed with the Factor II deficient plasma. Correction of the clotting time of the deficient plasma is proportional to the activity level of Factor II in the patient plasma. Features:
- Once thawed, VisuDep-F Frozen Factor II Deficient Plasma is stable for 8 hours on-board (15-19°C) or at 2-8°C in original vial.
- Factor II activity level of <1% , remaining coagulation factors have activities of 50% and fibrinogen level of 1.5 g/L.
- Approved for in vitro diagnostic use in Canada and select European countries. Not available in the United States.
- Available in two package sizes: 25 x 1ml or 5 x 1ml
