Deficient Plasma, Factor IX – DiagnosticVisuDep-F Frozen Factor IX Deficient Plasma is an immune-depleted plasma which is intended for use as a substrate plasma in the quantitative determination of Factor IX activity in citrated plasmas using a clot-based assay. Principle: Factor IX activity in patient plasma is determined in vitro through the use of a modified activated partial thromboplastin time test (APTT). Patient plasma is diluted, mixed with plasma deficient in Factor IX and an APTT test performed. The result is interpolated using a reference curve generated with dilutions of calibrator plasma mixed with the Factor IX deficient plasma. Correction of the clotting time of the deficient plasma is proportional to the activity level of Factor IX in the patient plasma. Features:
- Once thawed, VisuDep-F Frozen Factor IX Deficient Plasma is stable for 4 hours on-board (15-19Â°C) or 8 hours at 2-8Â°C in original vial.
- Factor IX activity level of <1% , remaining coagulation factors have activities of 50% and fibrinogen level of 1.5 g/L.
- Approved for in vitro diagnostic use in Canada and select European countries. Not available in the United States.
